All of our coverage of InfoComm2019 was done using the Lectrosonics PDR lavalier microphone kit. The PDR (now MTCR) is a Personal Digital Recorder which records internally to a micro SD card, thus eliminating the need for wireless gear. The simplicity and small size of these units is a huge help when working alone. You don’t always get ideal conditions or budgets for every project. As such, it’s nice having gear that fits any situation, not just the ideal ones.
I used the Sennheiser IE 400 Pro model in ear monitors to discreetly monitor my own audio and spot check talent packs during placing. Relying on them exclusively for three days of non-stop action was a pretty good test, so don’t miss those videos. Sennheiser has come a long way in recent years to establish themselves as a safe choice for personal monitoring. Their headphones are priced fairly and deliver at every budget. Their inexpensive HD100 are a favorite of mine & still see daily use.
