Dante

Network Everything

Networked audio is popping up everywhere these days, with Dante from Audinate being a very popular choice. Simple console and stage box (digital snake) setups are a typical entry point for many users. Although networks spanning college campuses & across cities are becoming quite common. No matter how it is used, Dante is an increasingly affordable & powerful way to move audio around your production.

The gear we look at is always an important part of getting any job done. However, getting out to visit with crews like Maryland Sound at the New Year’s Eve ball dropping in Times Square is really the good stuff. They deploy a Dante network across multiple city blocks, stages, broadcast studios and remote positions. There is a ton to learn from their experience and incredible generosity in allowing us behind the scenes.

Audinate Educate

Through two fun challenges we put up on social media, over forty viewers have completed the Dante Certificate programs. Audinate offers a great training program online with all of the resources you need to gain confidence working in networked audio. Many folks have taken the downtime during the pandemic to complete these certifications. The most common feedback after completing the courses is that it was easier than expected. Most wish they had done it sooner.
