Wing + Dante = 🤷🏼‍♂️

The much anticipated Dante expansion card for the Behringer Wing is here & we are going to take a look at it in the coming weeks. It is a 64×64 channel expansion that occupies the external expansion slot on the back of the Wing. There is an internal spot for future native Dante in the Wing, but at the moment you will need to remove the dual SD card recorder that is likely in your slot now, in order to install the Dante card.

In the pictures below you can see the Audinate Brooklyn II card that is the heart of the Dante expansion. This card allows for primary and secondary networks to be connected for redundancy, and includes a pair of genuine Neutrik Ethercon connectors for professional use.

We’ve looked at the Wing previously in a group of videos earlier in 2020. If you’re not up to speed on the latest console from Music Tribe, there is a ton going on under the hood. Unlike most other consoles in layout & design, the Wing is a unique mixer at any price. However, at a street price around $3k USD typically, it may be one of the least expensive Dante capable mixers available.

Stay tuned for more info as we install and use the expansion card for real. Pricing has not been announced yet, so we’ll have to see how it shapes up as a package when that information is available.
