Allen & Heath CQ-18T: Gigging Powerhouse in a Backpack? (First Look & Thoughts)

I’m excited to finally get my hands on the new Allen & Heath CQ series digital mixer to share with you today. From a sound contracting point of view, these are a really attractive form factor and price from a brand that we all actually trust. I think these will be very popular for breakout rooms, general AV sessions, or any fast-paced small event where you need to travel light and set up fast in a tight space. Thanks to Allen & Heath for making this video possible by sending over this loaner for me to try for a few weeks.

UPDATE: If you’ve been asking about DCAs on the CQ mixers, be sure to check out this quick two-minute walkthrough I just uploaded. It shows you how to get DCAs working using the third-party Mixing Station App.
