Since Fender purchased PreSonus back in 2021, there have been even more changes to their lineup of ‘Studio Monitors’ than usual, and that’s saying something. They seem to take a ‘more is better’ approach to manufacturing speakers, with some pretty confusing naming conventions in recent years. Currently, they’ve got models named Eris, Eris .5 (2nd Gen), Eris E series, Eris Studio, Eris XT Studio, and now Eris PRO all for sale, side by side on their site. Who knows what the difference between them all is at this point? Each of those has different size options and Bluetooth versions too.

I don’t know how they keep track of it all, but they’re moving into 2024 with no signs of slowing down. They also have an R series and an R V2 version (which uses Eris parts inside) being sold at the same time, so maybe retiring older models just isn’t in their playbook. I look forward to seeing these in person at some point and hearing what users think of them as they make it into circulation. If not, then maybe the Eris Pro .5 (2nd Gen) when they’re announced next year.

From their Press Release:

The Eris Pro 4, Pro 6, and Pro 8 reference monitors feature a single point-source coaxial design, ensuring clear sound reproduction and superior phase alignment for a wide sweet spot and precise stereo imaging, ideal for both Dolby Atmos immersive rooms and stereo mix environments. The new Eris Pro 4 studio monitors offer detailed transient response and stunning dynamics, powered by a 1-inch ultra-low mass silk-dome tweeter and 4.5-inch woven composite woofer delivering clear bass with plenty of punch. Adjustable acoustic tuning, flexible input options, and provisions for wall/ceiling mounts make it easy to integrate the Eris Pro 4 monitors into both stereo and multi-channel systems. Monitors are sold individually.
