The factory replacement driver for the Fostex 6301 series speaker has been out of stock for a while now at all of the usual places. I recently picked up a 6301d that works but has been used hard over a lot of years and needs a new driver. So while the Fostex model is out of stock or out of production, we’re forced to consider other replacement speakers. Hopefully, they will be available again soon, but in the meantime, why not try the most popular 4″ car stereo replacement speaker on Amazon?
In this quick video, that’s exactly what we’re doing. We’re going to stick a Boss BRS-40 into the 6301 cabinet and hear how it compares to the original, albeit clapped-out, driver. It would be great to get hold of a new factory driver to test against the popular options, so let me know if you’ve got a line on any of those for sale.
