The holidays are right around the corner, and the gigs keep piling up. Time to think about getting some folks crossed off your gift list before things get more hectic. If you’re stressing out about what to get that special production person in your life, or if you just want to treat yourself, our 2018 Pro Audio Holiday Gift Guide should make things easier. 10. Pro Pocket Spike Stack – This tiny stack of fluorescent spike tape would be a great stocking stuffer or a quick way to refill your pelican case if you’re running low.

9. Etymotic High-Fidelity Earplugs – If you don’t have custom ear plugs, these are the next best thing. They will add a layer of protection and come in a handy storage case. Great as a backup or to keep a set in each bag.

8. CLC Handyman Flex Grip Work Gloves – I originally received these gloves as a gift and surprisingly enough they came as a suggestion from another audio engineer! You can’t go wrong with this sturdy, but reasonably priced option.

7. Hakko FX-901/P Cordless Soldering Iron – There are several other “on-the-go” soldering options out there, but this cordless version is by far my favorite. I’m never without AA batteries, so I’m happy to reuse those. I’ve used rechargeable AA batteries in this unit in the past with no issues. (For more, check out Video #93)

6.  Audio-Technica ATH-M50x– The ATH-M50x is definitely an industry favorite and it’s obvious why. These headphones are a great gift idea even for the non audio pros in your life. Take your gift to the next level or treat yourself by adding the Headphone softies. After a long day you’ll be glad you have them. (Video #80)

5. DcSoundOp Audio B.1 Notebooks and Stickers – #Maker Alert — We made some handmade notebooks! If you’re on a gig and need a quick place to write up a stage plot or diagram, our notebooks will be your go to item. 4. PA of the Day – In addition to covering live sound systems from all over the world, PA of the Day outfits the audio industry with fun and helpful gear. 3. Battery Back-ups – Whether you’re a Jackery fan or interested in the lightweight APC Power Pack, everyone can use one of these. My battery back-up is a necessary item for my bag and I never leave the house without one… or two.

2. ONYX Apps – I’ve been using the Spectrum Analyzer RTA recently and have been enjoying the functionality. ONYX was kind enough to send over a few more apps in their suite, so stay tuned for those upcoming videos. (Video #102)

1. SoundTools – I’ve always liked SoundTools because they produce quality gear by audio pros for audio pros. On gigs, I find myself reaching for the Sniffer/Sender fairly often and their new line of gear bags fit everything from headphones to your new set of CAT Boxes. (Videos #58 and #89)
