Ninja Flame Dante Mod

We looked at the Atomos Ninja Flame in video #219 when we compared it to the more modern Ninja V recorder. We looked closer at the Ninja V in video #181 where we compared it to the Blackmagic Video Assist recorder. In this video we take the first steps towards modifying the flame to be easier to work with for audio. Instead of working with all sorts of adapters to get into the 3.5mm unbalanced audio input jack, we’re gong to attach an Audinate AVIO adapter semi-permanently.

It would be an absolute dream to not have to destroy an AVIO adapter to do these types of projects. Unfortunately, Audinate does not sell the boards separate of the plastic housing & cheap XLR connectors. So before going all in by shucking the AVIO, we can build a minimally viable solution to live with first. Check out the video below and leave a comment with your thoughts on the project.
