I’d be willing to bet that a majority share of the people reading this have at least one drawer or box full of dead & outdated technology. There was a recent article making its way around the internet, suggesting Americans alone are hoarding some $33 billion in unused tech, most of which is just laying around the house or in junk drawers. Obviously, much of the functionality in older tech has been consolidated into our mobile devices, rendering the stand alone versions obsolete for many. But if you hate to see perfectly good gear that you paid good money for just wasting away, maybe you’d like to bring them back to life?

As people who deal with audio gear & technology on a daily basis, I’d imagine those of you watching this channel are more likely than the average person to have some old tech going unused in your drawers and storage bins.

With old cell phones and the like, the e-cycle center may be the only choice for a second life. But if you happen to have an older iPod, one of the ‘classic’ models, there may be hope yet. I had one suffering from a broken screen, terribly scratched case, a dying battery, and a noisy aging hard-drive

In this video, we put it all right and bring this classic up to modern standards with a storage upgrade to a 64GB Micro-SD card with the help of an adaptor board from iFlash.xyz. Follow along and let me know in the comments if you’d bother fixing up an old iPod like this, or if it’s time to just let go of the past.
