Jeff Bezos HATES creators

As an Amazon Associate DcSoundOp earns from qualifying purchases.

Last year YOU purchased $38k worth of gear through this site’s affiliate links, Bezos just decided he doesn’t need to pay for that

As you may have heard, just yesterday Amazon announced it will be slashing affiliate program commissions by over half. This program is how websites like this one all the way up to the New York Times are able to stay open. While the money brought in through Amazon on this site has only been a couple of hundred dollars a month at best, it has been an integral part of funding the cost of this site and making videos.

With a roughly 62% cut in rates taking place almost immediately, I can no longer count on aggregate funding to trickle in from these sources. Adding these unbelievable cuts on top of losing all of this year’s work, trade-shows and paid projects recently, it is becoming hard to see a future for this channel.

Viewer support through Patreon and Paypal has been the only consistent funding recently & I am considering pulling all affiliate links going forward and working harder to make this a viewer and industry supported channel exclusively. It will be a lot of work to make the transition, but accepting an ever shrinking percent of a percent as funding for this work just isn’t sustainable.

If you would like to see this channel and website continue, please consider even $1 a month in direct support through Patreon or Paypal. I appreciate you & hope we can keep this going.
