VCA Basics:

What is a VCA? How does it work? How is it similar and different to the DCA?

In this episode of “Live Sound Basics”, we’re talking about VCA’s (Voltage Controlled Amplifiers) the DCA Group’s analog predecessor. With the use of installation audio modules, we look at how VCAs work and the fundamentals of their operation. What can we use them for and what are the advantages over other approaches. Follow along as we set-up a VCA from Radio Design Labs and experiment with control voltages to set audio levels remotely.
