Soundcraft Ui-12 Review

In this week’s video we take a first look at the Soundcraft Ui-12 HTML-5 browser based mixer. I’ve been using the mixer for a little over a week now and have had the chance to take it out on a few smaller broadcast jobs, with great success.

It’s impossible to cover all of the aspects of a mixer like this in one video, so this time we’re concentrating on an overview of the features that would be important in a real world live sound job, along with my first impressions of the console after using it in the field.

It’s hard to believe that this type of quality, and feature set is accessible for under $300 and in a package that I can fit into my backpack. It’s not going to be a replacement for bigger consoles, but for what it is, I’m incredibly impressed that they were able to deliver it at such a reasonable cost.

Some of the accessories that I needed to get up and running with the Ui-12 –

USB-3 to RJ45 (Cat5) adaptor –

Acer Chromebook

Logitech Marble Mouse
